Update: Nexus announced on Google+ that the update will start rolling out today. Start mashing all the buttons!
A few days ago, Hiroshi Lockheimer announced via Twitter that Nexus phones will be receiving an OTA update that includes new emoji. In a follow-up tweet he released that there would also be a new keyboard, new font and new code included in the update.
Nexus owners (Nexus 5, 6, 5X, 6P) will start receiving this update this week, but if you have a non-Nexus device, you will have to wait some time longer as OEM’s prefer to take a long time to roll out updates.
Lockheimer was not allowed to disclose any other info on what would be included in the release, so Nexus owners will have a surprise waiting for them when they get the update.
Again, this update should start rolling out this week, but keep in mind that often a small group of people will get the update before it rolls out to the masses.
